Gettysburg Rec Park

starts at 8:15 am.

This year’s Ride for Trails takes place on Saturday, September 28, 2019, beginning and ending at the Rec Park in Gettysburg (545 Long Lane, Gettysburg, PA). Three different routes are being offered this year: 12-miles, 25-miles and 37-miles. All rides travel through the Gettysburg National Military Park and over picturesque Sachs Covered Bridge. The longer rides also wind through the quiet country roads to the south of Gettysburg with a rest stop part way through to recharge.  (See more info on the routes below.)

Preregistration is available online through the end of the day on Sept 26.  Ride-day registration is also available and opens at 8:15 a.m.  The cost is just $35 for pre-registered riders and $40 on the day of ride.  A free BBQ lunch is provided starting at 11 a.m.  A t-shirt is included in the price of registration for those registering by Sept 3.

Proceeds from this event will be used to design, develop, and maintain trails and bike routes in and around Gettysburg, PA. HABPI is currently pursuing development of an off-road bike/pedestrian trail from Gettysburg south to the Maryland border that will fill in one of the missing pieces of the Grand History Trail.  A study of potential trail routes is now underway.
