Looking to spice up your October riding?
Be part of the Washington County Ride Series; a 30-34 mile ride every Thursday in October, starting at 1:00 pm. C Pace, cue sheets, regrouping, no SAG.
Each ride is a loop so potentially shortening your route is an option with some planning ahead.
The name of this ride is the Farm-Orchard Tour. It starts at Washington County Regional Park, is 32 miles, rolling to hilly. Miles of neat orchards and scenic views await you when you ride up from the valley and along South Mountain. Stop at one of the famous fruit stands for fuel. There is also a tour from this same location called A View of the Valley. It is 21 miles long, with one big climb, then hilly. On this route you climb part-way up South Mountain and are rewarded with a spectacular view of the Hagerstown Valley with its orchards and farms.
These rides are taken from the brochure called, "Bicycle Tours Washington County, Maryland. They are made available to the public through Hagerstown - Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
