Looking to spice up your October riding?
Be part of the Washington County Ride Series; a 30-34 mile ride every Thursday in October, starting at 1:00 pm. C Pace, cue sheets, regrouping, no SAG. This ride has been rescheduled from Thursday to Saturday, October 14th, at 10:00am due to poor riding conditions on Thursday.
Each ride is a loop so potentially shortening your route is an option with some planning ahead.
This ride is called the Camp Harding - Fort Frederick Tour. It starts at the Clear Spring Park, is 30 miles, hilly and rural. Camp Harding County Park is the site used by President Harding, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford and Harvey Firestone for camping and fishing in the 1920's. Fort Frederick State Park boasts the only remaining stone French & Indian War fort in the country, and is restored to that era. It features historical re-enactments on certain weekend. You will have a chance to rest your legs on part of the paved Western Maryland Rail Trial.
