Looking to spice up your October riding?
Looking to spice up your October riding? Be part of the Washington County Ride Series; a 30-34 mile ride every Thursday in October, starting at 1:00 pm. C Pace, cue sheets, regrouping as desired, no SAG.
Each ride is a loop so potentially shortening your route is an option with some planning ahead.
This post season ride offers no SAG support, but does include regrouping.
This ride is called the Whitetail - Dam 5 Tour, is 34 miles long and is rolling to hilly. It starts at Clear Spring Park. This route goes north into Pennsylvania, passing the Whitetail Ski and Golf Resorts, then heads south to Dam No. 5, one of the feeder dams for the C&O Canal, and through some of the Cumberland Valley's finest farm land. You will pass the Wilson Bridge Picnic Area, at the longest stone arch bridge in the county, and can stop at the Wilson Store, which is a typical country store and post office from a by-gone era.
These rides are taken from the brochure called, "Bicycle Tours Washington County, Maryland. They are made available to the public through Hagerstown - Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
